Study ladder of FGA / DGA courses

In addition to strengthening students’ professional knowledge of gemmology and diamond, courses offered by the AGIL also preparing students to sit for the theory and practical examinations of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A), in order to acquire internationally recognised professional qualifications. Certificate in Gemmology, Diploma in Gem Diamond and Diploma in Gemmology of Gem-A are accredited by the Qualifications and Credits Framework (QCF) of the United Kingdom, pitched at Level 4 to Level 6 respectively (for details, please refer to http://register.ofqual.gov.uk). Holders of Diploma in Gem Diamond and Diploma in Gemmology of Gem-A are eligible for direct entry to Year 3 of the Bachelor of Science programme in Gemmology and Jewellery Studies at the Birmingham City University, and to acquire the bachelor degree in one year (for details, please refer to www.bcu.ac.uk/courses/gemmology-and-jewellery- studies). Results of AGIL students in the Gem-A examinations are outstanding, they have won the First in the World Award four times in the past!
